Sugui Digest — SE01EP14 — Fear.

Hi everyone! Hope you´re safe and ready for a brand new edition of the digest. This week wasn´t warm in terms of technology, nothing much exciting but I tried to synthetise the 10% of all of my reading here. Fear is something terrible. It makes you freeze, makes you speechless and avoid you to take chances. For some time I had the fear of lose my loved ones, my job, my life. But what I fear today is to fall in oblivion, perfectly presented in Pixar animation Coco. To that not happen and enjoy life (that´s too short by the way) my advice is to dive in what makes you freeze. Take your chance, the outcomes will surprise you! Have a great week!

To your ears, Jack Johnson — From Here To Now To You. This album is important to me after all because in a very strange time of my life I decided to take a month at the beach, working from there to reshape all of my thoughts regarding my family and relationships. Tough times, but good memories.

Book of the Week: Dream Big — Cristiane Correa. A contemporary classic, inspiring and a way to several developments. Two of my favourites are Vicente Falconi school, with zero-based budget and how to optimize costs (try his book either) and Carlos Brito, an inspirational leader. Some of professionals who worked with them has made major companies such the largest student exchange company in Brazil (where I lived some of that dream for a while) and served as inspiration to the largest brokerage firm in Brazil. Just with this book and people and business orbiting it, we could make an edition just with their culture. But we know ain´t nobody got time for that, so the video below is a great short vision of what they do.

*Talking about Alphabet, Google has made public a great vulnerability scan called Tsunami, what according to git is: “A general purpose network security scanner with an extensible plugin system for detecting high severity vulnerabilities with high confidence.” It´s in pre-alpha so, be carefully, read the small words and run it!

*Fxmsp notorius kazakh hacker has been arrested. Why the note about him? He orchestrated attacks through 44 countries, more than 300 companies including McAfee and governments being active for more than 3 years under the radar.

*In my eternal meetings, suspicious managers always ask me around the vendor lock-in of AWS Lambda. I always talk about other vendors FaaS offerings and open source alternatives such as Knative. For a better understanding of how Lambda is not an offender in that matter, check this article and have your own thoughts.
